District Education Authority, Jhang has been established in the year 2017 under Local Government Act, 2013. It is an institution at par with other provincial departments working at district level.

- Qamar Jawad Mehdi, Student, Govt. High School Wasu Astana, Jhang was the topper in Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Faisalabad (Boys Male) in 2019 obtaining marks 1085/1100
- Top position in Punjab in District Ranking of CM Roadmap in 2016-17
- 100% utilization of budget in the Financial Year 2018-19 & 2019-20
- Construction of 10 boundary walls and 12 class rooms during the Financial Year, 2019-20
- 100% transparent and meritorious recruitment of 2280 Educators and AEOs in the year, 2017
