Agriculture
Jhelum is at the spot of Trimmu Barriage in Jhang District. The then joint river, under the name of Chenab, runs another 75 kms to enter the District of Khanewal and Multan. Both the rivers are important tributaries of the Great Indus River. Thus this land of great importance, is the part of "The Great Indus Valley Civilization" which is unquestionably ranked as one of the great urbanized civilizations of the earliest world. So Jhang District is presently famous as "The land of two rivers". The Chenab River is one of the great five rivers of the Punjab, and is of much importance. It rises in the Himalayan ranges of Kashmir and enters Punjab, near Sialkot, flows in the south westerly direction until its unites with the Jhelum in Jhang. The Jhelum is about 720 Km long, rising in Kashmir and meet with Chenab at the spot of Trimmu barriage. The Trimmu Headworks is of great importance to the whole Punjab and Jhang region in particular, because of its huge irrigation system, the Lower Chenab Canal, Jhang Branch Haveli Canal and Rangpur Canals are originated from Trimmu and irrigate lacs of acres of land. Agriculture is the occupation of 70% population. Jhang is one of the largest wheat producing districts in the province.

- The condition of underground water is very suitable for drinking purpose except few areas of Tehsil Shorkot
- Irrigation water is provided through 60 canal’s and distributaries

Most of the areas in Jhang are facilitated with natural gas and the process of provision natural gas is under process
Production of Wool
Efforts are being made for the production of quality wool. A woolen center has also been established in Jhang city. Availability of hides / skins and slaughter house wastes has been made proper.
