The Deputy Director (Colleges) is administrative and financial control of the multi-tier Higher Education sector in the District. It manages more than 19 public, Commerce and 20 private colleges with general as well as specific programs in Jhang District. The mandate of this office is identified in the Rules of Business as follows:
- College education general (Post-Matric to Post Graduate Level)
- Promotion of scientific research
- Promotion of sports
- Service matters of all teaching & non-teaching staff of government colleges
- Preparation of budget
- Consolidation of expenditures
- Consolidation of fee income
- Promotion of ministerial staff
- Preparation of promotion cases of teaching staff
